Hall, Room 204 The class will be a combination of lecture, discussion, and guest presentatio n. There will also be a required laboratory/activity session each week of the term (except Week 1) Fulfills Tier-I "Q-Science" General Education Requirement. Also offered to community members for CEU credits Objectives Specific objectives are: 1) To develop a basic of understanding our food systems, their components and interactions; 2) To develop an understanding of the scientific method and its role in food systems issues; and 3) To work with skills in critical thinking and using/evaluating different resource materials. Students will have opportunities to use the scientific method in exploration of agricultural production approaches, to evaluate the perceptions and realities behind food systems issues currently in the popular press, and to explore and articulate their own experiences and perceptions with respect to food system sustainability.
